ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATION are a major focus of the Nova Scotia Community College. As part of this work we are presenting the fourth year of this exciting program opportunity!
NSCC will be seeking two employee leads for the Social Entrepreneurship Program. The employee selected as the 'senior' lead will support and help prepare the students and then travel to Vietnam in June 2019. The employee who is selected as the 'junior' faculty will work with the group to prepare in 2018/19 and then, with program approval, will travel in 2020.
Interested faculty members are asked to review the information below, including the Criteria for Selection, and to submit the online application form. Expressions of interest will be reviewed by NSCC International and last year’s faculty lead.
The 2019 program will take place June 2019.
This program has NSCC students working with students from Tra Vinh University (TVU) in Vietnam on a business idea that would promote entrepreneurship in the Mekong Delta region of Southern Vietnam. Students will work as a project team and do prior research as to what types of entrepreneurship ventures could be successful in the region. During the time abroad students will interview entrepreneurs in the community, conduct site visits and develop business ideas or improvements that could be implemented. Prior research as to what types of entrepreneurship ventures could be successful in the region will assist in the project work.
