Bo Kimkes’ BlogNetherlands

I would like to start explaining why I chose to do a minor in Canada.

When I was a little girl I’ve always said that I wanted to go to Canada. I was inspired by the people and I wanted to see the extraordinary nature.

I study International Business and Languages in The Netherlands and I chose to do my minor in Canada, Halifax. I didn’t go alone; there were 4 other students of the Hanze university of Applied Sciences. We’ve rented a car and went to the Bay of Fundy.

Besides all the great things Canada has to offer, I really missed my bike. I couldn’t imagine that I would miss going by bike to school or to the grocery store, I think maybe because it’s so normal here in the Netherlands. But I absolutely missed it, you have to depend on the busses or you have to walk and there are a lot of heights differences in Canada. Also the routes aren’t save and they don’t have biking trails.

I would like to say that I really enjoyed my stay in Canada. However, I’ve missed my family and friends. I didn’t want to miss this experience, but it feels great being back in the Netherlands.
