Kenya Education for Employment Program – Despite the Cold Weather the KUCCPS team enjoyed the Warm Hospitality from NSCC

A team of three from the Kenya’s national student placement agency, KUCCPS, recently visited Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) for a project workshop and an open house under the Kenya Education for Employment Programme(KEFEP). The workshop was organised to develop a marketing tool and strategies for Kenyan national polytechnics to employ in their marketing and branding activities to grow student enrolment.

It was the second time NSCC was hosting a KUCCPS team, and coincidentally, both visits happened during the onset of winter. “Katie (Director, NSCC) finally confessed that she likes having us in Canada when it’s very cold so that we can stay indoors and work,” says Edna (NSCC) Well, let’s just say the strategy worked while it lasted. The team stayed indoors and worked.

“The road trip to NSCC Lunenburg Campus for the Open House was exciting (it gave us a chance to get out) and so were the staff members at the Campus. Notably, Leanne, was quite passionate about her work. I hope her bosses have taken note of that talent. She’s a rare human resource capital that only awesome institutions like NSCC can afford to keep.”

“We look forward to a successful implementation of the various marketing strategies using the marketing toolkit developed. This is a key step towards rebranding of the Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) sector in Kenya in support of her development goals.
