Entrepreneurship Summer Program in Scotland – I am a returning student and have never had the chance to participate in an experience like this before. When I heard about the opportunities from NSCC International, I applied for all of them.  My family heritage is from Scotland; therefore I was excited to hear about being chosen for the trip. This is the first time I have been over seas and have enjoyed the experience.

The best part of the trip has been connecting with the people that I have been living with. It was interesting to get to know the Nova Scotian’s I have travelled with and to see how diverse our group is. We are also staying with 30 German students. It has been an amazing experience to combine our cultures and languages together. They have been also teaching us German, and it is fascinating to see how after a week, we can pick up on some conversations. I have made friends with people that I know I will keep in touch with.

Interacting with this cultural experience has taught me how to communicate with people without words. From a marketing perspective, I have learned that marketing to Canadians is very different then marketing to Scottish or German people.  Products and services that may work for Canadians, may not work for Europeans. I have also found that no matter what language someone speaks, you can still connect with them.
