Bridge the Ocean in Finland – Having joined the Bridge the Ocean Finland project, I expected to learn a lot about the Finnish culture and about documentary filmmaking. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this has come true and so much more. The varying conditions and interactions presented ample opportunity to exercise my skills with the camera and coordination with the team. The presentations and activities provided fascinating insight into the businesses we visited, and the food we cooked and tasted was an excellent manifestation of the colliding of the cultures which took part in the project. Above all, my biggest takeaway from this experience must be the people who I have met. We have built strong friendships which tie us together, spanning across the globe – We have, in fact, bridged the ocean.
