Doing Business in Europe Summer Program in the Netherlands – While reflecting back on the time I was in the Netherlands, I realized how much I’ve changed as a person and how rich this experience really was. From attending classes every day at Hanze University, to exploring what the city of Groningen had to offer, each day was a new learning experience. As someone who never traveled outside of Canada before, I never imagined that I could see myself actually going back to the Netherlands and wanting to further my studies and potentially career over there. I met so many amazing people along the way and was sad to leave the culture I grew to love in just three short weeks. 

One of the days that I was most nervous about turned out to be the most rewarding as our team was selected to pitch our Dragon’s Den idea to a panel of judges at Philips, and to our surprise won overall! 

A piece of advice I would give anyone nervous to leave their comfort zone is to just take the leap and go for it! I’ve learned your outlook on life and future completely change when you go abroad as you get to experience a different way of living and find a new piece of yourself along the way.
