Women in Entrepreneurship in Peru – Having been chosen to participate in the 2018 Women in Entrepreneurship in Peru through NSCC International has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

Prior to departure I prepared myself with some travel books and simple Spanish phrases.  This information did not come close to the feeling that you get when you actually visit the country.  Our group consisted of three students and one instructor from NSCC and four students of Institute del SUR of Arequipa, Peru.

Our team worked with local women who were mothers of students at San Juan Apostle school in a rural section of Arequipa.  We worked with the women to help guide their business plans and expand their knowledge so that they can start or continue their businesses.

We started with a great icebreaker that helped to lighten the atmosphere and by the end of the workshop we had formed friendships that will last a lifetime.  During the weekend of our trip we were able to travel to Machu Picchu, one of the seven wonders of the  modern world.

Without NSCC International none of these experiences would have been possible and I am forever grateful for the experience and the memories.
