Mikumi Solar Water Project in Tanzania – When I first read about Tanzania, Tanzania is considered one of the most impoverished counties in the world. As I walk around the local villages and experienced this truth, I suddenly realized that the people seemed full of life, curiosity and their happy smiles were genuine.  We westerners build our values of life based on material but I feel we missed the true value of happiness in life. In Tanzania, I truly experienced what life is about, family, shelter, food on the table and clean water, making the rest only a dream but not necessary.

The Solar water team, NSCC and VETA's faculty and students, built a true piece of technical ingenuity.  Although the well solar pump was defective on arrival, the team came together to provide sound recommendations to improve the design. It has been a privilege working with an outstanding group of individuals and it will be sad to loose contact with them, once our new careers start off.
