Cultural Entrepreneurship & Documentation Program, Grenada –

As the sky darkens for one of my final nights in sunny Grenada, I reflect fondly on what has been a truly inspirational experience.  Over the past two weeks, I have watched a diverse group of individuals of varied ages, backgrounds and experiences come together to share, learn and grow together as a community. We have been welcomed by local entrepreneurs eager to share their knowledge and experience, fed by families as we learned how to prepare traditional dishes and humbled by a beauty that is truly unique and special to Grenada. Perhaps the most treasured experience for all; however, is the confidence that has developed from stepping outside of one’s comfort zone. In just two short weeks, shy individuals resistant to public speaking became confident presenters whose voices filled a room of strangers. I believe all of us involved in this experience have felt a warmth, kindness and support from each other that will last a lifetime.
