Terrance Ley’s BlogTanzania

Tanzania, a few years ago if you asked me to point it out on a map or tell you some facts about it I would of looked at you like you had two heads. I never had any ambition to go the warmer climates of the world, I’ve always been more interested in the snowy mountains but thankfully my instructor Cynthia convinced me to take part in this project. Since the first day in Tanzania, all of my prior opinions and views of Tanzania have been shattered. Tv commercials and news made me believe that it was just a poor country with cool animals and warm weather, which is so far from the truth. Since being here, I see that Tanzania is full of warm welcomes and friendly people. They are extremely resourceful and will take whatever they are given and make it work. Even though working with the language barrier can be difficult, the idea of working with others that speak English seems like breeze and has grown my confidence exponentially. This will be huge moving into the work force and give me an edge that I wouldn’t have gotten back in Canada. To anyone reading this who might be contemplating doing work outside of Canada, all I can say is do it. This project has made me a better person and has been worth every penny.
